I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

I use Pantene Frizz Control shampoo and conditioner. I think I may need a more moisturizing conditioner, any reccomendations?

I use a product call Hayashi 911 Emergency Pack. It is kind of expensive, but so well worth the cost. I add some of the 911 in a cup along with some olive oil. Then I apply it to wet hair (do this at night before bedtime). Then I will take a towel, get it wet, wring it out to where it is jut damp and put it in the microwave for about 3 minutes. You will have to experiment with your microwave at home because they are all different. Once the towel is steaming hot, I wrap it on my head and leave it on my head until it cools down. I do this about 3 or 4 times. Then, I sleep in the conditioner and olive oil. In the morning, just shampoo your hair as you normally would. Do this treatment about once a week.

Also, everyday, after you shampoo your hair and towel dry it, you may want to spray some Infusiom leave-in conditioner on your hair. That has really helped my hair too!!

One last thing that I have sworn by and I know other women have sworn by it too. Take pre-natal vitamins. It will not only help the appearance of your hair, it will also speed it the growth process.

Good luck!

Paul Brown makes AWESOME shampoo and conditioner. I buy it at my salon - it is more expensive, but worth it. Good luck!

Smash up an avacado or two ( without the pit of course ) and put that on your wet hair with a plastc shower cap covering it for at least an hour If you have an old fashioned dryer or can point the blow dryer at it, add some heat before you rinse it out

Mix half olive oil and half honey, warm it up in the microwave (NOT HOT!) And massage it in your hair until your hair is saturated with the mixture. Wrap your head up in a towel or something and leave it on for as long as you feel like it. I usually leave it on for like an hour.

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

Olive oil once or twice a week for a half hour then rinse. ALSO I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bed Heads "After Party", I use it in the morning and at night. It smells great and it is not oily at all!

An "over the counter" shampoo and cond. will only coat the hair w/ wax. temp. making it feel better but not healing at all. Try professional products like Biolage, or Halo.

Your hair is probably damaged by heat, from a flat iron, or curling iron or something. You should continue using the same shampoo you are using... but when you put in the conditioner, leave it in for about 5 minutes. Then when you rinse it out, it will feel softer. Try a deep conditioner... Also, If you have the money, a professional shampoo and conditioner with moisture added would help... such as Paul Mitchell... They are very good.

first off do not buy regular shampoo. Switch to natural hair shampoos such as organic. You can find them in most stores.

Secondly, you need to eat more oil in your diet. Try taking flaxseed oil or incorporate coconut oil into your diet.

Speaking of oils, you should oil your hair weekly with olive or coconut oil.

Do not blow dry, straighten, etc your hair

and lastly, try to minimize your sugar intake.

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

do a mayonaise treatment take 1/2 -3/4 cups of mayo rub through your hair take a wet hot towel and wrap it around your head wait 30 minutes then wash your hair with a mild shampoo. good luck it works

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

here are some ideas

here are some home remedies which are very good for dry hair. i had dry hair myself but when i tried these tips it was great! they've never been dry again!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away

Go for the Mayo: Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Mix up a Tropical Treat: Mash one over-ripe banana (the blacker, the better) with a mushy, rotten avocado. Massage this exotic puree into your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes before washing out鈥n the kitchen sink!).

Grab a Cold One. Beer can give your dry hair a healthy sheen. Before you blow-dry or style, use a pump bottle to spray brew onto your hair. The beer will leave your hair shiny and sleek and its odor will disappear quickly.

In addition to using these home remedies regularly to avoid dry hair, try the following preventative measures:

Avoid overshampooing. Shampooing can wash away the hair's protective oils, so try washing less often and use a mild shampoo labeled "for dry or damaged hair."

Condition regularly. Conditioners protect the hair鈥檚 cuticle layer from splitting from the shaft. Pick a conditioner that works well for your hair and use it after every shampoo.

Wear a hat. Too much exposure to wind and sun can leave hair thirsty.

Trim off split ends. The biggest problem caused by dry hair is split ends. Schedule a trim every six to eight weeks to keep fraying ends under control.

Ease up on the heat. Heat (in the form of blow dryers, as well as straightening and curling irons) can quickly dry out hair. Let your hair air dry occasionally. Try using plastic cylinder rollers to straighten hair by wrapping slightly moist hair under and around rollers for about 10 minutes. For curling, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Don't swim without a cap. Use a rubber cap to protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. If you must forgo a cap, rub a spoonful of olive oil into your hair before diving in.

also heres a very good website which could help you out with all hair problems!

http://www.pioneerthinking.com/hair.html

Good luck!!:)

Another thing is also putting in lotion in your hair after you have gotten out of the shower and you can also put in lotion in hair after you have dried it.

Just rub some lotion on your finger tips and run it through your hair evenly.

Also, something that will help your hair is to take COLDshowers. What most people dont know is that if you take hot showers, the heat gets rid of the oils and other things that your hair needs to be kept healty and shiney.

Hope this helps!

If this doesnt help just contact me and i can give you more tips for your dry hair!

Smash an avocado and mix with jojoba and peppermint oils. Make sure its really smooth you may want to put it in a food processor with a little water. Then apply some to your scalp and the rest on your hair. Massage for a minute or so then put on a plastic cap. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes. The avocado and jojoba oils will moisterize and the peppermint will stimulate your scalp to loosen any dead skin and open your pores. It will feel great. Your hair will grow better and won't be dry. :)

Neutrogena has a line called Triple Moisture. This is what I found at their website:

Neutrogena Triple Moisture庐 Cream Lather Shampoo gently dissolves away impurities as it deeply moisturizes every hair strand.

This revolutionary cream hair cleanser revives even extra dry or over-processed hair, making it feel soft and smooth all day after a single use. Three naturally derived extracts penetrate to defy dryness on all three dimensions of the hair strand. Olive penetrates to the center, Meadowfoam Seed helps moisturize the middle and Sweet Almond wraps the surface. Its rich, abundant lather cleanses hair gently, taming fly-aways and frizz.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture庐 provides specialized care for extra dry hair.

I've tried a sample of it, and it works great. It left my hair feeling very soft and smooth.

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

Lots of answers here, but listen to me!!! I had super dry hair, tried all kinds of moisture products that didn't really help. If ya can believe it, Aussie shampoo and the conditioner (3 bucks or less) called "moist" worked wonders! It was amazing, and you should give it a try before some of this odd crap people are telling you to do on here...sorry, no offense.

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

Olive Oil

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

I have VERY dry hair, what can I use to make it soft and silky?

I use hot oil treatment once a week. And i put more conditioner when i was my hair. Try leave in conditioner for a change. It repairs and moisturize ur hair from all the damages we get from styling, blow drying and excessive products.
