My hair is starting to get really dry and frizzy, and I think it's my shampoo. Could anybody recommend me some shampoo/conditioner that can get my hair less dry and frizzy?
Maybe an anti-frizz/tangle product as well? :]
Also, any tips on straightening thick hair?
My hair is a big pain in the butt, and I'm trying to control it!

well for starters, you need a good shampoo. all soft in redken will do what you need. then i think you should try the smoothing cream they have called align.. the all soft will do just what is says. it is for dry and brittle hair to make it softer and stronger.
as far as straightening it, you need to use some kind of thermal protective spray such as the sleek in the matrix or the flat iron guard 44 in the chi. this will keep your ends from getting split and more dry.
you need to dry it in sections with a big paddle brush and then when you flat iron it use small sections too. this will help a lot. the iron guard will also keep your hair more smooth initially and smoother for longer. also more humidity resistant!
*NO PANTENE! this is the worst thing you can use and it can cause a lot of breakage! i have seen it happen....anything over the counter is not really that good if you want honesty. they all do about the same thing.

Pantene is a good one to use if you don't want to use expensive salon shampoos and conditioners...
you could also spray your hair with some leave in conditioner

NO DO NOT DO PANTENE!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! pantene leaves a disgusting residue that makes it look shiny....but it actually makes your hair a LOT drier!!!! go for aussie or herbal essences!!!!!!!!!!

I would totally suggest Sleek and Shine from Matrix. You can only buy it in salons, but it works THE BEST!! If you have a Wal Mart near you they usually have deals on botht the shampoo and conditioner. It works best with both of them. I also use Biosilk Silk Therapy for afterwards, especially when using a hair dryer! If this is still out of your price range, I would go for Treseme Smooth and Silk, it has some of the same affects for half the price! I hope this helps, I too have frizzy hair and these have done wonderful tricks :)

Use fruitese (green bottle) curly hair putty to curl. then pass finesse mouse through it (its alcohol free) then spray with hair spray and dry with blower for curls...my hair looks great!. For straightening i sometimes use an straightening flat iron. good luck

From what you said sounds like we have the same hair! Pantene, herbal essences, dove none of those are good for preventing dry frizzy hair. It actually made may hair more dry and more frizzy. Rock n roll suggested redken and she is so right! That stuff is awesome. I have the thickest, curliest hair ever and that stuff made is look so nice. Shiny, it wasn't dry or frizzy, but its really expensive so I don't know what to tell you. Paul Mitchell is really good as well but you have to be willing to spend money. If you can't afford that stuff, try neurtogena or tressemme maybe? Good lucK!
