If you milk the one-eyed wonderworm, majic juice will come out of the end of it. Use that in your hair.

Once a week...use olive oil and massage thru your hair. Allow it to be on 1 hour, then shampoo...also lemon juice will give it shine and alleviate dandruff. Stay away from store products that are expensive and promise miracles. Nature offers the best!

You need to get a Leave In Protein Treatment from beauty supply or from a salon. Took me over a month of protein treatments to fix my gooey hair (colored it, then permed, then fried it)

the aussie hair line has some great products - try the 5 minute hair miracle. Do it a couple times a week just like the package suggests and your hair will be good as new again!

I'm cheap and I have long hair, which I dye, so I know all about this. I use something called Hask Placenta Serum. Ok, don't freak out...it's just this vial of liquid, and it's really good for your hair. You can buy it at Walmart for under 5 bucks and just pour it on your hair after you wash it. It instantly makes your hair feel so healthy and strong. Seriously.
Also, I would suggest using Infusium 23. That's a leave-in conditioner that you can spray in your hair after you towel dry it. Get the kind for colored hair. It's good stuff.
Using a shampoo/conditioner specifically for dry/damaged hair is also much better for your hair.

The same thing has happened to me many times. You can condition your hair all you want, but you will probably need a good cut to get rid of the fried hair. Your hair needs lots of protein. I like Pantene Prov treatment intensive restoration treatment. You can buy that at any drug store.

you cannot repair or fix damaged hair. hair is dead and once the damage is done the best thing to do is cut it off. having said that there are some things you can do to help it look and feel better and also to prevent the same damage in the future.
serum is great on damp hair because it locks in a lot of moisture which your damaged hair will be lacking. apply some more once your hair is dry and it will feel silky smooth.
do regular (atleast weekly) hair masks with a decent conditioner. i find its really good if you put it on in the evening and then leave it to dry, put a towel on your pillow and sleep with it in and then just rinse it in the morning. i did this when i had really dry and damaged hair after a hot holiday and it really does feel like a baby's hair when you rinse it out.
the final and best thing I can suggest which my stylist recommended to me for if you home dye your hair. put a thick conditioner (one out of a pot rather than a bottle) on to the dry ends of your hair and leave it there before you dye it. it acts as a sheild to keep the dye away from your already dried out hair. hope this helps.
