my hair is not too thick, but its wavy/curly and slightly frizzy, and the remington straigthener that i use now works, but it damages my hair a lot.
What is a good, inexpensive flat iron that works on wet and dry hair and also doesn't damage hair?
I'm not aware of any high quality straighteners that are sort of inexpensive.
I have a Ceramic Chi Straightener (I hardly use it) and it makes my hair really straight, soft, and shiny. Especially if you get the spray that comes with it. You can't use it on damp/wet hair though. I got my Chi %26amp; the spray for around $100.
And no matter how nice your hair seems after using a straightener, there is ALWAYS some damage. Using a ceramic straightener is just LESS harmful then metal plated straighteners.
If your hair is frizzy, try taking a multivitamin, drink lots of water, shampoo hair only 1-2 times a week, deep condition weekly, and use a hot oil treatment monthly.
I am mixed and have crazy, wild, curly, frizzy, THICK, hair and doing what I mentioned above has really helped.

inexpensive and works well are two contradicting terms.
Ever heard of "you get what you pay for".
Going cheap on a flat iron is not something you want to do. Cheap products are exactly that. They don't last long and they are put together very badly.
I am a stylist I have a Hai and have had it for almost 6 years. I use it on 60% of my clients and it still works.

The best kind of flat iron you can get is a Chi. I don't know of any flat irons that you can use on wet hair. As a matter of a fact, I've heard some stylists say not to iron your hair while it is wet because it steams your hair. The Chi is not an inexpensive flat iron though. However, they do have a generic version of it and it works just as good as the Chi does. The Chi will run you between $100-$120. The generic will run between $70-$80. And you can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply.
